AI Screening Agreement
What to expect from your AI-led interview, and what you’re agreeing to before it begins.
Last updated August 14, 2026
You’re interviewing with an AI
Your interview is conducted by Iris, an AI interviewer — not a human. Iris asks role-specific questions, listens to your spoken answers, and may ask brief follow-ups, just like a first-round screening call.
What is recorded and analysed
- Your interview is recorded — audio, and video where the role’s interview uses your camera.
- Your answers are transcribed into text.
- Where the role’s interview uses your camera, periodic camera snapshots may be taken during the interview and automatically checked for interview integrity — for example whether the person on camera is the one speaking, whether more than one person is present, and whether attention repeatedly leaves the screen. These integrity signals are shown to the hiring team as facts alongside the snapshots; they are never used to score your answers, and nothing evaluates your facial expressions, appearance, or emotions.
- Automated systems evaluate your spoken responses (via the transcript) against the role’s criteria and produce a scorecard (scores, strengths, concerns, and a recommendation).
- Your interview and scorecard are shared with the hiring team at the employer you applied to.
Who makes the decision
The scorecard is a screening aid. By default, a person on the employer’s hiring team reviews candidates and makes the decisions. Some employers configure automatic pipeline steps — for example, automatically advancing candidates whose interview meets the role’s bar, or automatically declining candidates whose interview does not. Where that applies, the decision is applied without an individual review at that step.
Either way, you can always request that a human review your interview and any automated decision — contact the employer directly or email [email protected], and the request will be routed to the employer’s hiring team.
Tips for a fair interview
- Use a quiet space with a stable internet connection and allow microphone access.
- Speak naturally and at your own pace — take a moment to think before answering.
- If something goes wrong technically, you can usually rejoin and continue.
Your choices and rights
- Taking the AI interview is voluntary. If you’d prefer not to, contact the employer about alternatives.
- You may request access to, correction, or deletion of your interview data.
- You may withdraw consent at any time; this won’t undo processing already done before you withdrew.
- If you need an accommodation (a disability adjustment, more time, an alternative format), let the employer know.
